Last Updated: July 2026
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By using the State Line Coatings website, requesting an estimate, engaging our services, or communicating with us via phone, text message, or email, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms“). If you do not agree, do not use our services or website.
State Line Coatings (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our“) reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

- Surface preparation (grinding, cleaning, crack repair)
- Moisture vapor barrier application (if required)
- Epoxy or polyurea base coat application
- Decorative flake broadcast
- Polyaspartic topcoat application
2.2 Service Area
We serve residential properties in the Kansas City metro area (Kansas and Missouri). Commercial or industrial projects are available by special request only.
2.3 Estimate & Quote Process
- Estimates are provided in writing on a non-binding basis
- Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date provided
- Final pricing may adjust if site conditions differ from the estimate (e.g., additional crack repair, extensive contamination)
- You will be notified of any price changes before work begins
3. PAYMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS
3.1 Payment Schedule
- 50% deposit due upon signing the contract to secure your appointment date and order materials
- 50% balance due upon project completion before the homeowner takes possession of the finished floor
- Accepted payment methods: ACH bank transfer, check, or Stripe credit card (3% processing fee applies for credit card)
3.2 Cancellation & Refunds
- If you cancel more than 14 days before your scheduled installation date, your deposit will be refunded in full minus a 5% administrative fee
- If you cancel within 14 days of your installation date, your deposit is forfeited (materials have been ordered and crew has been scheduled)
- No refunds are issued for customer-requested changes or dissatisfaction with color, unless the color applied differs materially from the sample provided to you in writing
3.3 Payment Issues
If payment is not received by the due date, State Line Coatings reserves the right to:
- Withhold the final before/after documentation and warranty until payment clears
- Charge a late fee of $50 per week until payment is received
- Pursue collection action
4. INSTALLATION TIMELINE & SCHEDULING
4.1 Job Duration
All garage floor coating projects require a minimum of two (2) business days to complete properly, including:
- Day 1: Surface preparation, grinding, cleaning, and first coating applications
- Day 2: Additional coating applications and curing
We cannot guarantee single-day completion. Rushing creates quality failures. Your estimate includes realistic timelines.
4.2 Scheduling & Rescheduling
- Installation dates are scheduled upon 50% deposit receipt
- You must provide 14 days’ written notice to reschedule
- Rescheduling within 14 days of your appointment may forfeit your deposit
- Weather delays (rain, extreme temperature, high humidity) may postpone work; we will reschedule at no additional cost
4.3 Garage Access & Preparation
You agree to:
- Provide clear, dry access to the garage on installation days (no vehicles inside)
- Remove or secure items that cannot be temporarily relocated
- Ensure adequate ventilation (open doors/windows or provide fan access)
- Notify us of any structural issues, active leaks, or moisture problems before the estimate
5. WARRANTY, LIABILITY & LIMITATIONS
5.1 Workmanship Warranty
State Line Coatings warrants that all work will be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner according to manufacturer specifications (Floorguard product data sheets).
Warranty covers:
- Material defects (product failure due to manufacturing fault)
- Application defects (peeling, bubbling, or delamination due to installer error, within 12 months of installation)
Warranty does NOT cover:
- Normal wear and tear from heavy use or abuse
- Damage from vehicle hot-tire pickup (requires proper curing time — see Section 5.4)
- Cracking or movement of the underlying concrete (coating moves with the substrate)
- Damage from chemical spills, impact, or scratches
- Failure due to improper customer care (see Section 6)
- Color variation between batches or lighting conditions
- Work performed by third parties after installation
5.2 Warranty Period
- Workmanship warranty: 10 years from completion
- Product warranty: Per Floorguard manufacturer warranty (typically 2–3 years; see your product documentation)
5.3 Remedy for Defects
If a defect is covered under warranty, State Line Coatings will, at its discretion:
- Repair the affected area, OR
- Provide credit toward a complete re-coat
Remedy does NOT include:
- Full refund (unless failure is determined to be systemic and uncorrectable)
- Indirect damages, lost business, or inconvenience claims
5.4 Liability Limitations
YOU ASSUME ALL RISK for:
- Underlying concrete conditions (cracks, movement, moisture) — the coating does not repair or prevent concrete deterioration
- Curing time violations (driving on the floor before 48 hours) — hot-tire pickup is a known risk if curing time is not observed
- Improper cleaning or maintenance
- Damage from pets, heavy machinery, or impact
- Moisture issues that arise after installation (we test and apply moisture barrier per specification; we do not guarantee permanent moisture prevention)
State Line Coatings is not liable for:
- Indirect damages (lost income, inconvenience, emotional distress)
- Damage to property beyond the coated floor
- Personal injury claims (you assume the risk of slippery floors when wet — see Section 6)
- Consequential damages arising from service interruption
MAXIMUM LIABILITY: In no event will State Line Coatings’ total liability exceed the total amount you paid for the installation.
5.5 Concrete Liability Disclaimer
We do not warrant the underlying concrete. Garage floors may contain cracks, moisture issues, or movement that existed before our work. The coating is applied to the concrete as-is. If underlying concrete fails (cracks widen, moisture re-emerges, settlement occurs), the coating may reflect that failure — this is not a workmanship defect.
6. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES & PROPER CARE
6.1 Curing Time (CRITICAL)
You agree to:
- No foot traffic for 12 hours after topcoat application
- No heavy traffic, dragging items, or equipment for 24 hours
- No vehicles or hot tires for 48 hours — this is the most common failure mode; violating this voids the warranty
- Keep the garage dry and well-ventilated during the first 3 days
6.2 Cleaning & Maintenance
Your floor is now a sealed coating, not raw concrete. Proper care is required:
- Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit/debris
- Mop with mild soap and water (no harsh chemicals, solvents, or acidic cleaners)
- Wipe up spills immediately (especially oil, gasoline, or harsh cleaners)
- Use cardboard under jack stands; do not drag tools or metal across the surface
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (can cause slight yellowing of clear coats)
Failure to maintain the coating properly voids the warranty.
6.3 Slippery Surface Warning
The finished floor may be slippery when wet. This is inherent to epoxy and polyurea coatings. You are responsible for:
- Understanding and accepting this risk
- Placing non-slip rugs or mats in high-traffic areas if desired
- Warning guests or workers of the slippery surface
- Wearing appropriate footwear
State Line Coatings is not liable for slip-and-fall injuries on the coated floor.
